Exploring Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve

Happy 2015! We’ve left wintry Chicago, and are currently in tropical Singapore visiting with family. It’s lovely to walk around in shorts and flip flops instead of heavy down jackets, and thankfully the weather hasn’t been overly humid.

Early this morning, we visited Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, a lovely piece of unspoilt marshland that the Singapore government has set aside. It’s all the more cherished given that every time I come back to Singapore, it seems another plot of grassland has been torn up for new construction.

We spent four hours wandering around the park, taking delight in photographing hornbills, stork, eagles, monitor lizards, and spiders. Lots and lots of spiders.
