Sunset at Palm Beach

If you haven’t figured it out by now, I’m a sucker for blue and golden hour light. And it really doesn’t get as dramatic as Sunday evening, when we were out at Palm Beach. Joe wanted to see if he could spot whales from the lighthouse (no luck).

It had been cloudy and slightly drizzly the entire day, so we weren’t even banking of catching any sort of sunset. But as it turned out, there was a break in the sky just in the west horizon. It was enough to suffuse the clouds out west with this intense fiery glow. Back out east, the clouds were as drab and as grey as can be.

I didn’t bring my camera with me (that’ll teach me to thumb my nose at what nature can do!), but Joe had his so we managed to catch the sunset. You can’t make these colors up!

  1. Gorgeous!! I used to love heading up to Palm Beach late at night too. We would go to the far end also know as ‘Kiddie’s Corner’ and watch the lights from houses all along the cliffs, the floodlights lining the beach, feel the wind on our cheeks and imagine sailing away on that wild ocean to somewhere equally as exhilarating… beautiful photos 🙂
