Sunset over Sydney Harbor Bridge and Sydney Opera House

Sunset at Milsons Point

So much easier to catch the sunset than the sunrise. Haha. Lots more people out and about though.

I joined a photography meet up group Thursday evening to snap some pictures of the iconic Sydney Harbor Bridge and the Sydney Opera House, and we lucked out with the weather. What a beautiful evening. My favorite photo though, was this one above, taken after the sun had lost most its colors, at blue hour. I actually think I prefer that lighting to the colors at sunset, partly because the building and bridge lights come on at dusk, and give off these lovely twinkly lights.

Afterwards, many in the group congregated at the bar by Luna Park. It was fun to meet a bunch of new people. Good cocktails and bar snacks too!

Sunrise shots of the Sydney Harbor Bridge with the Opera House in the background are dime by the dozen. But those are shots taken by others; I want my own cliche collection. 🙂

It was a peaceful morning to be out. The streets were still quiet, but there were the early risers on their way to the harbor front for a bit of a jog, stretch, or a swim by the Olympic Pool North Sydney. And two other photographers.
